New Biome Growing Out of Old Biome

I took some pieces of discarded apple pieces from our garbage can and threw them in water. After just a couple of days I could see the natural work of recycling, the kind of thing that renews life. The water is full of bacteria and protozoan life forms that had been clinging to and developing from the pieces of discarded apple.
