Initiating a New Mudpuddle

Yesterday I threw some leaves from backyard trees into sink water. After about 24 hours the microbes began to emerge from the vegetation into the water. There are organisms of a range of sizes but the majority are the usual ovular protists. Only time will tell how these species begin to display themselves.
