https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LhxVJ-k45wI took a sizable sample from the salt water aquarium and carefully picked the content of my microscope slide to include a tiny island of algae fiber (in fact I drew two samples today). The dominant ciliate now is a small oval-shaped creature with cilia all around its bubble body. These tended to gather in group, clustering around the algae fibers. Are they really social and communal (bacteria are)?
