Wild Poetry Forum uses BBCode, which is a special implementation of HTML, for formatting text. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML. Tags are enclosed in square brackets [ ] and it offers greater control over what and how something is displayed. You will find adding BBCode to your posts is made much easier using the clickable buttons above the message area on the posting form.
Here are examples of the BBCode for various functions:
BOLD
[b]text will be bolded[/b]
ITALICS
[i]text will be italicized[/i]
UNDERLINED
[u]text will be underlined[/u]
STRIKETHROUGH
[s]text with strikethrough[/s]
CHANGING FONT SIZE
[size=75]text will be 75% of normal size[/size]
numerical value can be anywhere from 20 (very small) to 200 (very large)
CHANGING TEXT COLOR
[color=red]text will be red[/color]
specify either a recognized color name (e.g., red, blue, yellow, etc.) or the hexadecimal triplet alternative (e.g., #FFFFFF, #OOOOOO, etc.)

[quote]text will be quoted[/quote]
LINKING TO ANOTHER SITE (displaying the URL)

COMBINING FORMATTING TAGS
Yes, you can combine formatting tags, i.e., if you wish text to be both bolded AND italicized. However, be careful when nesting. It is up to you to ensure that each individual tag has been closed properly.
