A decayed leaf slowly disintegrating on the water surface made a kind of biofilm that I picked up with my special collection tool. The sample was full of microbe-like shapes but these were floating passively in the water. The only resistance I saw was among some bacteria which managed to swim against water currents. There was a wide variety of forms but I could not tell how many were living organisms.
