A Roof on the Water

This elastic and nearly impenetrable ceiling is made by very small--bacteria-sized organisms--that are hidden in the water and barely visible at full high magnification. The wall or maybe more correctly, the roof is made by bacteria--very small ones half-hidden in the water. The floating room prevents evaporation and protects the liquid water under it. The water feels waxy in my fingers.
