An Expired Biome

Postby Don Schaeffer » Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:30 am

This was one of my first fruit-based biomes. After I added some fruit samples to the water the sample supported an active biome. At one point, however, the biome became saturated with water and sunk in the sample jar. Since that time, the population of active moving protists vanished leaving a population of uniform and unmoving organisms in its place. This situation has since stabilized with the vegetable residue sinking to the bottom of the sample and the moving protozoan sample transformed to motionless organisms.
