Interaction of Protists and Bacteria

I've been watching this culture for some time. my original focus was on the larger protozoans. However, the population of bacteria has also come into focus. These organisms colonize the biome in very different ways. I never see them interacting. These particular microbes appear to be getting nutrition from substances in the water and do not attack each other as far as I can see. The behavior of organisms in this sample appear to get nutrition from dissolved vegetation.
