Like many sugary fruits, the juice of the strawberry is not a liquid but a very flexible thin solid. If it is viewed carefully under the microscope with light at an angle, the cell walls of the juice are visible. In this specimen, little care was taken to place the fruit tissue carefully to orient it properly, but the images are clear. The cell structure is very flexible and tolerates bending and folding.
