I had drawn this sample from our large lake (Lake Winnipeg) early in the Summer. I am mystified by it. The sample is full of small ovular figures that are only about one-tenth the size of normal protists and show minimal movement. It looks like a colony of bacteria but there is some variety in size. There is little motion.
