The Entire Surface is Biofilm

The organisms are moving in and on a film of decayed vegetation. I can lift it right out of the water and deposit it on a slide. It clearly won't be long until the nutrition is gone. Only two organism groups remain along with bacteria. The protists begin to accumulate along dynamic flow lines.
