A Leaf Being Reduced to Liquid

This decaying leaf is submerged in a stagnant water pool. The leaf had lost most of its green surface and has been reduced to become mostly fiber which decays more slowly. However, the remains of the leaf are laced with colonies of stable stationary organisms, agents that are slowly decaying the leaf.
