The Biome Has Become White and the Organisms Are Very Small

A few of my biomes are looking like this. It looks like a kind of maturation process. The organisms shrink in size to make them almost too small to see under highest magnification. But you can still see them moving rather fast through the biome. A dense yellowish almost leathery cover has spread over the water surface.
