Protists and Micro-animals in a Weird State of Stasis

Warning: Sometimes what looks like paradise is a death trap.
I found these microbes (protists and large micro animals in a biofilm. Some were completely integrated but very stationary. Others were in motion. I wonder about their life status. The water was in dense biofilm. The faint images of bacteria were everywhere.
