Possible Spirazonan Infestation In the Red River

Postby Don Schaeffer » Tue Sep 17, 2024 1:32 pm

I have been observing larger entities that look like protists but without motion. Smaller bacteria do move about in the sample. My check of the internet suggests the motionless organisms may be spirazonans--a possibly dangerous infestation. I took this sample directly from the Red River about 60 days ago. Although the larger organic entities do not move they do reproduce (judging by numbers over time).
