How posts are displayed here at Wild is now under YOUR CONTROL. The old days of the board being "fixed" are gone. Yes, Admin has made some default setting choices generally for the board, but if you don't like them, YOU can CHANGE them.
Your best bet is to explore your USER CONTROL PANEL. It's up there on the left, under Board Index. This USER CONTROL PANEL is very important. Look through all the options you will find there, and start changing things to see what effects your modifications will achieve. How the topics are sorted and displayed are under BOARD PREFERENCES, DISPLAY OPTIONS. You can choose how you wish to see things without affecting anyone else's view.
The USER CONTROL PANEL is your magic wand. Learn what's available to you. Use your options. You can customize your Wild experience to best suit how you wish to work. There really is no central place to find out what all your options are. The best way to learn is just to start playing around and clicking on options. You can always set things back to Default if you don't like what happens when you change things.
