This culture may have been poorly treated. I dropped some pieces of orange peel into a culture that contained what may have been floating boney elements. After a week a film appeared on the surface of the water. The microscope revealed that the film consisted of a fixed film of suspended ovular cell-like structures that looked like microorganisms but never showed motion. I have learned that these are a group of non-moving parasitic organisms. The population of these organisms increases every time I view it. They are growing in number and a few different kinds or non-moving organism are now seen.
