At the beginning of the summer my son picked up a sample of water from the Red River. The organic structure of the sample has not changed. It consists of bacteria and related organisms mixed with fragments of vegetation in the water of the Red River. The motion of bacteria in the sample is very subtle undulation. There are some larger cellular forms which I am told are probably cyano-bacteria.
