Life in this biome has become very crowded and layered. I have photographed life among the remains of the vegetation itself. These pictures are images of life bellow the big patch of vegetation floating on top of the water. Here most of the organisms are free-moving, not anchored to the biofilm as they are in the mass just above them. It is also true that the viscosity of the main body of water is fast increasing as the biome ages.
