Colonies of these organisms grow in the stems of garden plants. They are colonies of individual circular organisms that cluster on the wooden stems of trees near the soil line. The specimens I collected have a light green color. My understanding is that they are not parasites, but contribute to the growth of their hosts. Colonies are visible as a flat circular cap-like structures which clings to the plant stem.
