In my mind, my travels with the microscope are sometimes like interplanetary probes or landers. I get a glimpse of an alien planet trying to see something that makes sense, some structures that appear to indicate something systematic. Much of what I see is lovely but random. Today I looked for the organized structures on the surface of a raisin, something that might represent the original cell structure of the plant.
