Although I saw two beautiful coleps in the sample from my old mud puddle today, large ciliates were not the focus of what I saw. Cyanobacteria, that are really large bacteria cells capable of photosynthesis locked together in long strings, although not technically multicellular organisms, were the largest organisms I saw. The rest were the micro-micros--too small to clearly articulate with my microscope, but organisms I really want to see better.
