I toured the artificial mudpuddle once again to survey the state of things. I saw large ciliates, and amoebas, but for me as a microbe hunter, the most interesting thing is the mass of tiny creatures, much smaller than 1/100 of a mm (almost at the limit of light microscopes). There are so many of them in the mudpuddle and in tremendous variety.
