Honorable Mention A Christmas Poem Marty Abuloc the air does not carry a sound only the moon in a quiet space, a silver loneliness upon the hour that waits as if something or someone will happen It is not the carols, not the chimes of after-mass bells. neither the dinner table nor the cheers and laughter around it But it is there, somewhere, a sensed certainty that tonight, or perhaps later in this lifetime at last, as if it is possible to wrap such a gift when it is a pure song, the essence of a smile the warmth and softness of something prayed for with desperate silence for hours and years and long walks alone.
