Today, the celebration
of my father's 81st.


It was just last week
in passing I saw him:

His baby-fat body
balanced on those short chubby legs.

He turned around to look up at me.
He wanted to know that I was watching.



I can still hear him
chuckling away as he showed-off

how he made his first steps,
holding on to Mama's kitchen table.
