Why Wild Poetry Forum?
Wild Poetry Forum was created to provide writers, mainly poets, with a supportive place in which to express themselves and share their work with other writers. Wild Poetry Forum serves as an outlet for expression, in addition to an opportunity to learn more about who we are as writers and where we wish to take our talents.
What does Wild Poetry Forum strive to be?
Wild Poetry Forum (WPF) is a place for writers aged 21 or older of all skills levels (published or not) to share their knowledge and to display their unfinished or draft work for commentary and critique. Wild Poetry Forum is an ACTIVE WORKSHOP. Work should be brought here with the understanding that it will receive commentary meant to improve it. This makes WPF an ONLINE EQUIVALENT OF A LIVE POETRY CRITIQUE OR WRITERS' GROUP. WPF is NOT an online journal or magazine; hence, the work featured here, mostly unfinalized, is merely on display, but NOT published. WPF is also NOT a vanity board or a social networking site.
Who are we?
We are writers, poets, and lovers of words who continuously strive to convey our deepest thoughts through the artistic medium of writing. WPF is an American-owned and operated entity. As such, English is the primary language spoken here. Though we do embrace writers from all over the globe and have members from many different countries, a working knowledge of English is a necessity (including vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, etc.). Most of our members speak to one another in English only and to get the most out of your WPF membership and to be able to work alongside other members, you will need to understand, speak, and write English fluently. We do not have the staff nor the resources to provide English language lessons and assistance. Speakers of other languages are welcome to participate, and to post in their native tongue if desired, but since most of our membership is fluent only in English, the audience for speakers of other languages will be limited.
