Very Active Biofilm

A week passed since new vegetable matter was dropped into this water sample. The medium has become almost syruppy. A generation of very small circular organisms has appeared. These very small organisms are the size of bacteria but they move very rapidly in the water unlike bacteria I've seen. The biome is busy with various species of protists widely ranging in size and complexity.
