A small branch of one of the houseplants had been disconnected. The flow of its vital substances had been discontinued and it has been disowned by the plant. I put it under the microscope just at the time when the life of the plant was being negotiated and reconfigured. Part of the plant is only recognizable as a thing and part is still recognizable as a cellular plant construction.
