The biofilm has covered the entire water surface. In these pictures, the densest biofilm has been diluted by adding some free liquid. The variety of protists remains much the same as before. Bacteria density is higher. A large cake of solid vegetable matter floats on the surface--slowly eking nutrients into the biome.
