This morning I am greeted by a fully formed biofilm*. Bacteria are in full reproduction mode. The result is a thickening of the water medium. The range of protozoan species in the biome is still limited but I suspect some discoveries will be made in the next few days.
*A biofilm is defined when the surface tension on the surface is sufficiently strong to hold inside a wire loop 2 mm in diameter.
