In The Viscinity of an Evolving Cucumber

Postby Don Schaeffer » Mon Jan 22, 2024 2:22 pm

I had dropped a slice of cucumber into the mudpuddle 2 days ago. A group of rotifers appeared in it: the first rotifers I had seen for a while. A rich biome expanded in just a few days. Does cucumber fruit have a special attraction to rotifers? The variety of protists and bacteria in this culture is intriguing.
