Dead Leaf Skeletons

I was curious to see if traces of structure in leaves remain after a plant dies. The fact is that some structure is still visible after the leaf has completely dried out. Erosion of the cell membrane nearly wipes out the form of the cells in spots but much of the cell membrane is traceable.
