More and Less Organized Faces of a Leaf

I examined a rubbery lawn leaf I found torn off a plant. When I looked at the leaf I found that the upper face of the leaf is more regular and organized than the lower face. It's almost as if the leaf has a nice shiny public face and tries to hide it's private industrial face.
