Reaching Saturation

My biome continues to grow toward saturation. The biofilm is very dense now--I can lift the film up out of the water with my small metal loop. The sample I get with the loop is a dense, almost opaque concentration. I have to dilute it to make it transparent enough to study. The population changes continuously. The ameba that dominated previous samples are hard to find now. I can't see bacteria as well because of the density of the medium.
