Tiny Protists Signal the End Of My Dry Spell

I extracted the latest mudpuddle from rainwater that accumulated on the grass. What I found (that brought me some satisfaction) was a collection of very small roundish ciliates (at least I think they are ciliates because they move like ciliates). A brief above-freezing spell brought them to life.
