Strange Passive Cell-Like Structures in the Mudpuddle

This mudpuddle (lawn leaves in water) has produced some strange results. There are many bacteria and growing numbers of these cell-like formations. I call them quasi-cells for lack of certainty. They are associated with pieces of leaf from the trees. Every time I include a piece of leaf in the water sample these quasi-cells appear in the mix.
