The Process of Decay

I examined a piece of a wide grass leaf that had been in the process of decay for slightly over a week. While some of the leaf cells are still more or less intact, other cells are unrecognizable. The bacteria change the leaf structure. Structures like veins are resistant to decay so can still be seen more or less intact.
