The Cells of a Leaf Decaying in Water

The cell structure of the leaf decaying in water has been changing slowly. These leaves seem resistant to decay. But markings in the leaf increase as it decays. The water the leaf is soaking in both nourishes the leaf and holds the elements of decay.
