Slow Maturation of the Biofilm

Postby Don Schaeffer » Sat Oct 14, 2023 9:52 am

After a week the biofilm still has not congealed. There are many small protists and an increasing population of bacteria. I did see one larger protozoan but I couldn't photograph it. I will keep looking. Eventually a biofilm will form and the variety of organisms will increase.
(I define a biofilm when the loop of metal I have holds a bubble-film when I dip it in the water sample--the bubble stretches 2.5 mm across).
