Inside the Decayed Leaf

I am watching the deconstruction of living tissue. The leaf from the grass is converting into a gelatin consistency by the bacteria in the water. The circular formations appear to originate from the leaf itself. Very small bacteria are barely visible and small protists are active in the work of decaying the leaf. Please note--I really don't know what I'm seeing here but it is fascinating.
