Dense Biofilm Protist Paradise

My mudpuddle biome has matured so that a dense elastic film has formed over the water surface sheltering and binding the protists in a thick ooze. One of the things I observe in this peculiar environment is the intense social behavior of these organisms. I am impressed by the degree to which they seem to press against each other and slide over each other apparently without any practical reason. It gives the impression of some kind of sensuality.
