Size and Motion Bias

My bias is that, like many hobbyists, I favor the large ciliates as subjects. I sort of have the vague feeling of kinships with those creatures who swim, move sort of like people do in the water. I keep thinking of them as real animals--so a little bit higher than the humble bacteria, flagellates, diatoms and the rest. But the action in my stagnant water puddles favors the smaller creatures which are very lively.
