On the coffee table in the living room lay an ailing jade plant. The house is very dry and the plant looks a little worse for wear. It looks like the desert. I took a piece of the stem and prepared it for to my microscope. The microscope changes things like plants, the very narrow focus of the high power lens makes tissue that is really transparent or translucent look like it is opaque. The cells look like rocks. Looking at this plant is like visiting a rocky mountain. Organic cells look like weather-beaten boulders.
