These stagnant water pools do seem to go on through cycle after cycle providing there is enough green stuff to generate oxygen. Watch a large amoeba slime around in its eternal hunt. There are small ciliates, shaped like paramecia but smaller. There are many flagellates notably some probing around in their surroundings with a flagella that look like nose pieces. Cyanobacteria and bits of free floating algae are there too, as well as some mysteries.
