The mudpuddle is really a busy place. Part of it is doing the work of reducing the materials of life and part of it is busy in the construction of biofilm which is the home bacteria make for themselves. I witness the process by which these otherworldly creatures, the bacteria, begin to construct a dwelling out of the materials of their bodies.
