Seat of Decay

In the basement room I have three stagnant water ponds contained in aquariums of different sizes. What are in these ponds are constantly decaying materials. The organisms that bring about the decay are a source of interest for me. I throw leaves and plant materials into the ponds and sometimes tiny insects like fruit flies fall in. All are ground into the elements by the microscopic creatures who live by reducing dead things into the elements. These are very unhappy places.
