Brackish Water Amoebas

I have been neglecting the "salt water" sample that I received from my granddaughter's aquarium. I took a look at it today. As expected I found it populated by very small organisms--at the limit of what I could see with my equipment. But as I scrolled along the side of a bit of decaying leaf, I saw a rather odd star-shaped amoeba. Then I saw several others. It amounted to a colony of amoebas obviously targeting the tiny flagellates occupying that part of the biome.
