Far from Home

As I recall,
Autumn was just beginning.
I left when the trees were bright yellow
against the the sky frost had burned
the deepest blue.
I went to the land of elements.
The merger point,
great life soup, lay on a solid rock
of focused water top
and watched the dancing blocks of sameness:
a round one, a boxy one, one sliding on
inky wires, a design made from milky stones.
