The new small puddle was getting all dark and misty so I thought I would find a treasure trove in it. The truth is there were some large ciliates, but they were moving through open water--uncentered--and I couldn't focus on them with the high power objective. I did find a ciliate that was entering a cyst state, with all its organelles circulating like it was revolving. There was a large worm. The life soup was very rich with tiny flagellates and bacteria that were smaller than .01 mm in size, interesting forms and moving in interesting ways.
