Cells in Living Wood

I have been preoccupied for a while with seeing the cell structure of wood. Up to now my examinations have been on dry wood, dead wood. It finally occurred to me that wood is a plant and I ought to be looking at green samples to see the cell structure. I found a broken twig where the wood was still green. I could see the cell walls in that wood even though they were very subtle. Wood does have some beautiful and unique properties.
